About SRT Clear

Check subtitle timestamps, overlaps, and line lengths, then save a corrected copy from your Mac.

Please include your macOS version, SRT Clear version, and the steps that led to the issue. Please do not attach a subtitle file to a support email unless it is needed to investigate the issue. A support email contains the address and information you choose to send.

Common questions

Which subtitle files can I open?

Choose one SRT or VTT file encoded as UTF-8. Other formats or text that cannot be decoded as UTF-8 are not accepted.

Why is a cue marked with an invalid timestamp?

Review the timestamp near the line named in the message. A cue must start before it ends; the source remains unchanged while you review it.

Why can I not apply this time shift?

The shift would create a negative timestamp or exceed the supported range. Reduce the shift and check the first and last cues before saving.

Will a long line fit on screen?

The line-length check counts characters. Display width and wrapping depend on the subtitle player and font, so preview the saved copy in its target player.

What happens if saving fails?

The source remains unchanged. Choose another writable destination and save the corrected copy again.

Purchases and restore

Connect your Mac to the internet, sign in to the Apple Account used for the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases in SRT Clear. Apple StoreKit checks the transaction and refreshes the entitlement. If it still does not appear, reopen the app and try Restore Purchases again. Apple handles billing and refund requests.

System requirements

Requires macOS 14 or later. An internet connection is needed for Apple StoreKit purchase and restoration services.
