App rules
TypeGuard lets you assign input sources to specific apps. For example, you can keep Cursor, VS Code, Xcode, Terminal, or iTerm in English while chat or writing apps use your local input source.
Lock Mode
Lock Mode keeps the selected input source active across app changes. Turn it off when you want normal app-based rules to resume.
Menu bar and HUD
TypeGuard runs as a Mac menu bar utility. The menu bar item shows status and provides quick controls. HUD notifications can be disabled in settings.
Privacy
TypeGuard detects the active app and switches macOS input sources. It does not read or upload typed content, and it does not use accounts, analytics, advertising SDKs, cloud sync, or external AI services in the current version.
Purchases
TypeGuard is sold as a paid Mac App Store app. Once downloaded through the App Store, the full v1 workflow is available without an additional app-internal payment, trial, subscription, account, or license key.
Privacy requests
TypeGuard does not upload your typing content or rules to KernelBeam. For privacy questions, contact support@kernelbeam.com.
