About BatchName Studio

Preview file-name rules and conflicts for one folder, then rename only the files you select.

Please include your macOS version, BatchName Studio version, and the steps that led to the issue. Please do not send a full folder listing or sensitive file names in a support email unless it is needed. A support email contains the address and information you choose to send.

Common questions

Why is a proposed name rejected?

A name must be non-empty and cannot contain a slash or null character. Edit the rule or the selected file name before continuing.

Why is the batch blocked by a conflict?

Two selected files may produce the same name, or a destination file may already exist. Resolve every conflict before confirming; existing files are not overwritten.

Why does a rule show an error?

The regular expression is invalid or a selected range is outside the allowed bounds. Edit the rule and review the before-and-after preview.

Why is a selected file unavailable?

The file may have moved, changed, or become unavailable. Refresh the preview and select the current files again.

What if a batch stops partway through?

BatchName Studio reports the item and rollback status. Completed renames are rolled back where it is safe to do so; review the list before retrying.

Purchases and restore

Connect your Mac to the internet, sign in to the Apple Account used for the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases in BatchName Studio. Apple StoreKit checks the transaction and refreshes the entitlement. If it still does not appear, reopen the app and try Restore Purchases again. Apple handles billing and refund requests.

System requirements

Requires macOS 14 or later. An internet connection is needed for Apple StoreKit purchase and restoration services.
